Ruby Movie Series Returns to City of Morgantown
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The City of Morgantown Arts and Cultural Development Department is pleased to announce the return of the Ruby Movie Series, featuring free movie screenings on Saturday nights at the Ruby Amphitheater located in Hazel Ruby McQuain Park. Screenings will begin on June 8 and end on October 26.
Each week will feature two movies, the first showing will feature a PG, family-friendly movie, starting at 5 PM. The second feature, which will start at 7 PM, will be oriented toward an adult audience.
Due to public input, the movie series was moved earlier in the season and showings were moved from Sunday nights to Saturday nights to better accommodate community needs.

The Ruby Movie Series will conclude on October 26 with a Trunk of Treat event beginning at 4 PM where children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes while attending, followed by a showing of Coco. Attendees of The Rocky Horror Picture Show are also encouraged to dress in appropriate costumes, but use of any props or profanity during the showing is prohibited.
“We are so glad to be continuing to provide free movie nights for the community”,” said Arts and Cultural Development Director, Vincent Kitch, “hopefully the warmer weather will encourage more people to come out there is something for everyone to enjoy”.
Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks, drinks, and blankets. Food trucks may be available during select showings.

The “10-minute Customer Only” spaces on High and Walnut Street are free of charge for customers picking up orders.
*Due to the processing time, residential parking permits are only sold between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
*The Morgantown Parking Authority office is open from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Additionally, the MPA offers online ticket payments above under “Pay Citation”. *The gated parking garages operate 24 hours a day seven days a week. On-street and surface lot parking meters operate 24 hours per day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of each week; and shall not operate on Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to Midnight and on holidays. “Holidays” includes only the following days: January 1 (New Year’s Day); the third Monday in January (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day); the third Monday in February (Presidents Day); (the last Monday in May (Memorial Day); June 20 (WV Day); July 4 (Independence Day); the first Monday in September (Labor Day); October 9 (Columbus Day); the fourth Thursday in November (Thanksgiving Day); the day after Thanksgiving; December 25 (Christmas Day); and election day held within the City as follows: national, State primary, general, and Morgantown City Council elections.
Parking Garages
For your convenience, the MPA operates four multilevel garages located at Spruce/Walnut Street, University Avenue/Walnut Street, Pleasant/Chestnut Street, and Wharf Street. Garages are open 24/7 with security lighting for your safety and help buttons on all gate access equipment for immediate assistance when you need it.
The Spruce/Walnut Street and University Avenue/Walnut Street Garage have 49 cameras that record 24 hours a day.
Metered Lots & Street Parking
The MPA offers both short and long term parking.
There are two different types of metered parking: short-term and long-term. Short-term meters have a 2-hour limit for convenient access to customer destinations. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to which meters are short term (2-hour) and which are long-term (10-hour).
